What this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: no cookies, no advertising, no profiling, and nothing that identifies you personally.
This site is run by Moreno I. Coco, Department of Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome, as a personal academic website. For anything on this page, write to moreno.coco@uniroma1.it.
This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Under the ePrivacy Directive, consent is required for storing or reading information on your device, and this site does neither.
To understand which pages people find useful, this site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless and collects only aggregate counts: the page URL, the referring site, country, browser, operating system, device type, and page loading times. These are derived from the request itself and then discarded.
It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, does not assign you an identifier, does not fingerprint your browser, does not follow you between sites or sessions, and does not build a profile. No personal data is collected, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers. Cloudflare processes this data on my behalf and publishes its own privacy policy.
The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how this site is used. Because the data is aggregate and never identifies you, there is no consent to give and nothing to withdraw. If you would rather not be counted at all, any tracker-blocking extension will block it.
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages, and requests pass through Cloudflare's network, which acts as my hosting provider and processor. Cloudflare keeps short-lived technical logs, which can include IP addresses, in order to deliver the pages and to protect the site against attack and abuse. Those logs belong to Cloudflare, are retained only briefly, and are not used by me for analytics or any other purpose.
If you email me, I keep the message for as long as it takes to deal with it, and for any record-keeping the University requires. It is not added to a mailing list.
Pages link to external sites: journals, DOI records, code repositories, academic profiles. Once you follow one, that site's own privacy policy applies. Nothing on this site embeds third-party content that would load before you click.
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data held about you, object to processing, or complain to a supervisory authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. In practice this site holds nothing about you beyond any email you have chosen to send.
